So, why did we go with D2 steel? D2 steel is an air hardening, high-carbon, high-chromium tool steel. It has high wear and abrasion resistant properties. It is heat treatable and will offer a hardness in the range 55-62 HRC, and is machinable in the annealed condition. The Justin Case Tactical FAFO-1 Janey-J Flipper D2 blades are Cryo-Treated and tempered to a hardness of 60 HRC. D2 steel shows little distortion on correct hardening. D2 steel’s high chromium content gives it mild corrosion resisting properties in the hardened condition. D2 steel is preferred by many knife makers because of its hardness, great edge retention, wear resistance, toughness, and it’s fairly easy to sharpen. Available in Black, OD Green, Flat Dark Earth, and Slate Blue.

Incredible knife
I have carried several different brands and stumbled across Justin Case at a gun store. I have found the quality of this knife incredible. How well it holds an edge the fit and finish,The way it feels in your hand. I now own several and love each one. It’s the only knife I will carry now.

Amazing product and ordering experience
as expected! great product, will for sure order more!
Best 85 bucks I’ve ever spent
Sharp in more ways than one…
Nice presentation right out of the box, knife was flawless and the action silk on glass and a nice quick opening. I used it on some rope and was like cutting butter. Over all a “sharp” knife. Looking forward to the next purchase from this maker.
